Wizkid has become one of the greatest and most significant African artists of all time. Born “Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun,” he began recording music at the age of 11 with some church friends under the group Glorious Five (5). In 2009, he signed a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E.), and by 2011, he released his debut studio album, Superstar, whose lead single, “Holla at Your Boy," started to bring him mainstream success. The album also brought fans the hits "Tease Me/Bad Guys" and “Don't Dull.”

His second studio album, Ayo, was a banger and brought six singles to the table, including “Jaiye Jaiye.” He left E.M.E. once his contract expired, and in 2016, he collaborated with Drake on the “One Dance” project, which brought him even wider recognition, and the single would top the Billboard Hot 100 chart as well as hit the number one spot in 14 different countries. The song was such a success that it put Wikid's name in the Guinness Book of World Records, making him the first Afrobeats artist to do so.

Now that his name was on everyone's lips, RCA Records took notice and signed him to a multi-album deal. His third recording would come out in 2017 titled Sounds from the Other Side," giving audiences a further five singles to enjoy, including another collaborative effort with Drake called “Come Closer.”

As time went on, he collaborated with Calvin Harris and Normani on a 2018 song called "Checklist,” which reached the number one spot on the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart.

Becoming a truly unstoppable force in the music industry, his song Brown Skin Girl won him a Grammy for Best Music Video. His fourth studio offering to the world was released in 2020, called Made in Lagos, which received wide acclaim and yet again topped another Billboard chart, this time the “Billboard World Album Chart,” and featured the first Nigerian song to claim the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, dubbed “Essence.”

His fifth and most recent album, “More Love, Less Ego,” is the reason for the tour, and judging by his past, you can expect absolute fireworks from Wizkid's show. Be sure to get yourself there by grabbing your tickets now.
