In 2021, the Illinois-born duo, Chevelle, dropped their latest album, NIRATIAS (Nothing is Real and This is a Simulation). The album is an entirely different project compared to Chevelle’s earlier releases. While their other works have very strong melodic vocals, NIRATIAS comprises mostly instrumental and spoken word tracks. The concept album had themes of interstellar travel, space, leadership, past, loss, and mistrust. The album’s lead single, “Self Destructor,” topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks. The single became the band’s sixth number 1 on the chart. Moreover, the song also entered three other Billboard charts.
Chevelle has consistently charted on Billboard since the release of their debut single, “Point #1.” The song peaked a number 40 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks, making it the band’s official breakout hit. In a span of two decades, Chevelle has released nine studio albums, three of which have been certified double platinum, platinum, and gold. The band also has four albums that reached number 1 on Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
Last year, Chevelle was nominated at the iHeartRadio Music Awards for Rock Artist of the Year. Over the years, the band has earned numerous accolades for their remarkable work. In 2000, they won two GMA Dove Awards for their debut album, Point #1, and hit single, “Mia.” Three years later, they received three nominations for the Billboard Music Award.
Speaking of awards, Three Days Grace won Rock Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2019. This 2023, they were nominated again for the same category, in addition to their single, “So Called Life,” receiving a nomination for Rock Song of the Year. Their latest album, Explosions, was nominated for Rock Album of the Year at the 2023 Juno Awards.
Since emerging in 1992, Three Days Grace has grown into one of the most commercially- successful hard rock bands in North America. The Toronto-born outfit has released seven studio albums and 26 singles, 17 of which have topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks. Since releasing their latest number 1 single, “Lifetime,” Three Days Grace has officially tied with Shinedown on the most number 1 songs on the chart. They also happened to beat the record previously held by Def Leppard.
